Max Oelschlaeger
Max Oelschlaeger was the inaugural McAllister Chair of Community, Culture and Environment at Northern Arizona University and one of the founding faculty in the Environmental Ethics MA program at the University of North Texas. Primarily an environmental philosopher, his publications include The Idea of Wilderness (Yale UP, 1991), Caring for Creation (Yale UP, 1995), and, with P.A. Gunter, Texas Land Ethics (Texas UP, 1997). His present research engages the chaotic interface of cultural and natural systems. He now teaches online at NAU.
